Carbon Tool at LoLEG

Metis are proud to be playing a part in the UK Government’s plans to address the climate emergency.

In partnership with Norman Rourke Pryme, we recently developed a Carbon Assessment Tool for Westminster City Council (WCC) to help them to understand and benchmark the carbon footprint of their construction schemes. Through the success of this project, we were invited by WCC’s Dean Wendelborn, the Chair of the London Lighting Engineers Group (LoLEG), to present our work at the group’s online meeting, which is attended by the UK’s leading local authority members, lighting engineers and lighting suppliers.

We demonstrated how the tool can be adapted to calculate the carbon footprint of lighting schemes and participated in a very constructive discussion on the importance of understanding and reducing the carbon footprint, as well as adding social value within the lighting industry. We are very grateful to Dean for this opportunity and are excited to implement these solutions within the lighting industry in the future.
