CIWEM Surface Water Management Conference 2018

Metis were privileged to have not one, but two papers accepted for the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management’s annual Surface Water Management Conference held on the 17th October 2018.

Senior Consultants Mike Mair and Dani Parfitt took to the stage to discuss projects they have worked on for the London Borough of Sutton and the Royal Borough of Kingston.

Mike presented on the work he carried out updating Sutton and Kingston’s Surface Water Management Plans focusing on the benefits of a catchment based approach. Dani used Sutton’s ‘SuDS in Sutton’s Schools’ project to discuss how SuDS features can be used within flood alleviation schemes to achieve multiple benefits, helping to obtain stakeholder support and to secure funding.

Both Mike and Dani were honoured to contribute to such a conference and seized the opportunity to promote the creative methods and innovative solutions Metis offer.
