We are pleased to welcome Anam, Catherine, Marlena, Matthew and Jawad to our team this month.
Here’s a little bit about them:
ANAM:
Anam joins Metis after graduating from Imperial College London with a Masters in Civil Engineering. During her final year, she went on an exchange programme at TU Delft where she was part of the Transport Planning and Water Management departments.
Anam spent the 3 months before joining Metis travelling in 3 continents: Europe, South America, and Africa – where she is from. She has a keen interest in volunteering and railways.
CATHERINE:
Catherine received her BSc in Environmental Science-Geology from the University of Texas. She worked in industrial wastewater permitting before moving to the London to pursue an MSc in Hydrology and Water Resource Management from Imperial College London this past year.
She joins Metis as a Graduate Flood Risk Consultant and is looking forward to applying her knowledge gained from her Msc towards real-world flooding problems throughout London. In her spare time she enjoys travelling, exploring London and rock-climbing when she can.
MARLENA:
Marlena is a Civil Engineer who received her Bachelor’s degree from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo, California. She was previously working at a private consulting firm in Southern California before relocating to London earlier this month.
Marlena looks forward to getting to know the Metis team and helping expand the highways group.
In her spare time, Marlena likes to travel, hike, backpack and play tennis.
MATTHEW:
Matt is a Civil and Environmental Engineer who has worked in both the public and private sectors in Australia. He has worked on a range of civil engineering projects including private subdivisions and council road and drainage works and brings this experience to the Metis drainage team.
Outside of work, Matt enjoys travelling, outdoor activities and listening to music.
JAWAD:
Jawad is a Civil Engineer who recently graduated from The University of Surrey, with a master’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
His big ambition is to develop the surrounding environment for the benefit of those that utilise it. Joining Metis, Jawad hopes to build on and apply what learnt during his studies and work experiences in order to archive this goal.
Outside of work, Jawad loves travelling to experience new cultures and food. He enjoys playing football and solving puzzles in his little spare time. More recently, Jawad has taken a liking to baking and cooking as he recreates and tweak existing recipes.
