We’re pleased to share that a new wetland area was unveiled last week at Halliwick Recreation Ground in Muswell Hill by the Mayor of Barnet, Tony Vourou.
Metis is proud to have collaborated with Blakedown Landscapes and Land Use Consultants (LUC) to support Barnet in delivering its first £1.3m Sustainable Urban Drainage Scheme (SuDS) at Halliwick Recreation Ground. Our team acted as the client representative during construction on behalf of Barnet and contributed to the development of the drainage design.
Councillor Alan Schneiderman, Cabinet Member for Environment & Climate Change, said:
“From conception to completion, we have worked closely with local residents. What was once an ordinary patch of grass in a built-up area is now a greatly improved park that is more accessible to residents. We care about our places and our planet. Halliwick Recreation Ground is now a safe, clean, and welcoming space, with the new wetlands helping to reduce the risk of flooding to nearby properties and roads.”
