As a graduate, you’ll have the chance to gain experience in all areas of our business and contribute to the delivery of real-world flood alleviation solutions in London and across the UK. For example, Metis is involved in supporting three London boroughs in the DEFRA-funded Silk Stream and Beverly Brook Flood Resilience Innovation Projects, which are part of a 6-year program. Metis is assisting with a catchment-wide appraisal of flood alleviation schemes, developing an innovative catchment-wide hydraulic model, creating detailed designs for flood alleviation schemes, and delivering the schemes on the ground. With this diverse exposure, we anticipate that you’ll engage with multiple clients and organizations, such as the Environment Agency and Thames Water, among others. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

You must be undertaking, or have completed, a degree in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering / Environmental Sciences (or similar). Post-graduate Masters degree students will also be considered. 

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for graduates interested in pursuing a civil and environmental/water engineering career who possess the skills to excel in a challenging and rewarding environment. Candidates must have: 

  • Sound technical ability and critical thinking 
  • Excellent communication and writing skills 
  • Ability to work within a team and be proactive 
  • Interest in flood risk management, hydraulic modelling and/or sustainable urban drainage system (SuDS) design and implementation 
  • A demonstrable appetite for learning and developing your career further 
  • Flair for innovation and thinking differently 

SALARY AND PACKAGE

The starting salary will be £32K with the potential for quick progression. The package includes a pension, eligibility for private medical cover, professional institution membership, and flexible working. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to participate in our lunchtime running club, after-work football team, team-building outings, sports days, and a variety of activities throughout the year.
