Our Core Offerings

  • Our team of experts is passionate about delivering safe, sustainable, and highly successful solutions. With extensive technical experience, we provide effective and efficient solutions from concept through detailed design to construction close-out. Metis also has substantial experience in using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D design software and other tools, enabling us to build efficiencies and accuracy into our designs.

    Our competencies include:

    • A focus on enhancing highway layouts to ensure safer and more efficient use of highway space.
    • Expertise that spans from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction.
    • The capability to provide modelling that supports various options and ensures that traffic impacts are properly addressed.
  • We enhance the accessibility, inclusivity, and usage of communal spaces. Our experience extends from concept through to detailed design and construction support. Metis acts as Principal Designer throughout the design stage and has experience in assuming this role during the construction phase.

  • Active travel focuses on designing infrastructure layouts to promote sustainable modes of transport. Metis is involved in all stages of design, from concept to construction, and has successfully delivered multiple active travel infrastructure schemes across London and other areas.

  • We design remedial works for highway assets, including carriageways, footways, drainage, lighting, and vehicle restraint systems. We specify, instruct, and undertake investigations to assess the conditions of the assets before providing recommendations for remedial works and construction drawings for contractors.

  • Metis engineers are experienced in addressing the changing nature of travel and its impact on our environment, focusing on improving safety for all and enhancing air quality. We assist with all aspects of projects, from modelling and feasibility studies to funding bids, concept development, design, and construction. We have designed numerous cycle, pedestrian, and bus improvement schemes, including:

    • Traffic modelling
    • Road safety design and auditing
    • Bus priority, walking, and accessibility schemes
    • Cycle route planning and auditing (in accordance with Cycle Network Development and other requirements)
    • Active travel schemes
    • Corridor and area-based improvement schemes
    • Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, Healthy Streets, and School Streets
