At Metis, we take our responsibilities to society and the environment very seriously, every day, in everything we do. We think it’s important to support organisations that share our values, so we have donated to Rainforest Trust UK’s new project, which is protecting 3.8 million acres of the Amazon Rainforest in Peru!

The forests have been safely stewarded by Indigenous Peoples for generations, and we believe it’s important to keep them in the hands of the communities who know them best. That’s why we’re supporting Rainforest Trust and their partner CEDIA to empower 160 communities to secure land tenure and management rights for their ancestral lands.

Not only are we protecting the forest, but our donation will also help lock in 6.3 million tonnes of CO₂ equivalents, which will assist in diminishing the global impacts of climate change. Additionally, this forest is home to several Amazonian species, including Giant Otters, Spider Monkeys, Lowland Tapirs, and Jaguars!

Our donation is enough to protect 4,124 acres of this irreplaceable rainforest.
