Metis helped Sutton Council host a Ministerial visit by Thérèse Coffey MP to announce Natural Flood Management Funding allocations.
34 community led projects have been named as winners of this £1m government funded competition, the first of its kind, and will now be able to realise their innovative plans to use landscape features such as ponds, banks, meanders, channels, and trees to store, drain or slow flood water. The “SuDS in Sutton’s School’s” flood alleviation scheme was one of the 34 winning projects which was developed and is being led by Metis’ Flood Risk Consultant, Dani Parfitt. This scheme will retrofit sustainable drainage systems into 8 schools and council buildings around the River Wandle to alleviate flooding to properties in the area.
Metis are delighted to be involved in this project.
