Metis Project to Benefit from £25M Funding

Share

We are delighted to learn of the recent government announcement regarding the successful projects in the new £25 million Natural Flood Management (NFM) Programme, with one of our proposed projects being among the successful ones.

The DEFRA Natural Flood Management (NFM) Programme funding was announced in September 2023, with £25 million available for projects. Through our Managed Service, we collaborated with the London Borough of Hillingdon to submit an Expression of Interest for a project in Pinn Meadows, Ruislip.

This programme marks the Environment Agency’s largest-ever investment in NFM, with the 40 successful projects distributed throughout the UK. NFM utilises natural processes to mitigate the risk of flooding while also providing additional benefits such as enhancing biodiversity. Examples of NFM techniques include leaky dams, swales, and wetlands.
