Metis Partner with Tarmac Kier to Deliver TfL Highways Maintenance and Projects Framework
A joint venture between Tarmac and Kier (TKJV) has been awarded the Lot 2 contract of the Transport for London (TfL) Highways Maintenance and Project Framework to maintain and improve highways and related assets covering a 189km network in north London.

Following our recent new appointment of Danielle Parfitt as our Director of Water and Environment, you might have wondered what was happening with Michael Arthur. Michael is moving home to New Zealand with his family in November, but he is not leaving the Metis crew. Michael, Simon and Luke are pleased to now offer all of Metis’s services in New Zealand.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has commissioned research to explore whether updating the English Non-Statutory Technical Standards for SuDs (NSTS) could help deliver SuDS that provide multiple benefits beyond managing surface water runoff, contributing to improved climate adaptation, health and wellbeing and better places and spaces.

It is with great pleasure that today we announce that Dani Parfitt has been appointed our new Director of Water and Environment.
Following government advice, Metis has helped its teams to set up comfortable working environments at home.
Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) are becoming part of our landscape. The best SuDS schemes deliver multiple benefits in terms of water quality, amenity and biodiversity, in addition to efficiently managing surface water. As awareness of these multiple benefits grow, susdrain’s expectations become higher.

Cathy received her MSc in Hydrology and Water Resources in China, and worked as a water engineering tutor and lab demonstrator in the University of Wollongong, Australia, where she completed her MPhil in Environmental Engineering.

Matt is a Highways Engineer who joins Metis following two years of working on LoHAC contracts. He graduated from the University of West London with a Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and has begun to work towards Chartership with the ICE.
